Shore and Raft

Mysteriously born one day, 
mysteriously wandering life, 
the human runs after thought after thought,
like a monkey swinging branch to branch. 

Then one day he stumbles on a shore, 
he looks out at the vast river, 
in an instant, his worries disappear, 
his mind becomes content and joyful. 

His whole life, he ran to the finite, 
Giving up the infinite bliss of simplicity, 
he foolishly chased the finite realm of objects, 
Atlast, a raft appeared before his eyes- the Dharma. 

Setting resolution to cross to the other shore, 
the man keeps moving, never looking back, 
then comes a time when sees nothing...
but water- closing his eyes...
no raft... no shore... no world... nothing there at all.
