Cry of a Wounded Lion

Beyond the seven realms,
Above sky and below ground,
There lies a hidden truth,
The truth of life beyond death.
A lion roars outside his den,
Unknowingly the forest wakes in haste,
The birds fly high in sky,
The fish swim marrily in river.
Suddenly the lion screams with pain,
He screams and cries with a headache,
Unable to find the cause of his illness,
He sits in wonder of his situation.
A monk walks by and seeing the lion,
he sits alonside and says:
"Rather than chasing after a stick
like a dog unleashed, by like a lion,
who turns to face the thrower."
The lion is enlightened.
Rather than running after his pain,
the lion turns to the source of it- it resides -
in the lion's own body, therein it subsides.
